Choose for your workflow, not just your monthly total.

Generation and email delivery have separate allowances. Check both monthly volume and the number of recipients you need to email in one UTC day. All plans are for one account; Business increases allowances, not shared access.

  • One certificate or a small batch: try the guest maker. Guests have 20 browser-generated certificates per calendar month; browser CSV batches accept up to 20 recipients. A Free account has 100 web-editor credentials per month and no certificate email delivery.
  • A recurring course: compare your web-editor volume with the monthly email allowance and daily cap shown above. Reuse a credential setup and select each new group from Recipients.
  • A large same-day delivery: choose only a plan whose daily email cap covers that day’s recipients, including resends. If no listed plan meets it, spread delivery over multiple UTC days; higher monthly capacity does not bypass the daily cap.
  • API or MCP: requires a plan with API access. Check monthly credits, daily credits, request rates, and concurrency under Technical limits. Browser allowance does not increase API credits.

Batch size is a per-operation limit, not extra monthly capacity. PDF preview generation uses allowance before rendering, so a failed render after reservation can consume allowance. Reusing the same browser generation receipt avoids charging the same unchanged preview again in that session. A new or changed request can consume allowance. Downloads of an already generated file do not generate it again.

What does one API credit include?

1 API credit = 1 certificate generated through the API or MCP. A batch of 10 certificates uses 10 credits. Reading templates and checking progress do not use credits, although request rate limits apply.

Are web-editor certificates separate from API credits?

Yes. Certificates created manually in the web editor use your web-editor allowance, one certificate per recipient. They do not use API credits. Creating a downloadable PDF preview counts toward the relevant allowance; downloading the same generated file again does not.

When do allowances reset?

Monthly allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month at midnight UTC. Daily caps reset at midnight UTC. Unused allowances do not roll over, and changing plans does not reset usage.

What happens if I reach a limit?

The operation stops at your included limit. There are no automatic overage charges. You can upgrade your plan or wait for the allowance to reset. Daily limits and concurrent-generation safeguards also apply.

How do batches and background jobs use credits?

Direct API requests support up to 10 certificates; background jobs support up to 100. Background jobs reserve credits when accepted, while direct generation counts when rendering starts. Browser CSV batches support up to 20 recipients.

Can I email certificates to recipients?

Paid plans include certificate email delivery. Generate PDFs, review the recipients and message, then choose Send. Attachments are temporarily uploaded for delivery. One email send means one recipient, and resends count again. Email sends have their own monthly allowance and daily cap; they do not use API credits. Sign-in emails do not count toward certificate sends. Free does not include certificate email sending.

What support is included?

Free includes self-service help and guides. Hobby includes email support. Pro and Business include priority support. Privacy, security, billing and other legal contact channels remain available to everyone.

Does Business include a shared team workspace?

Business provides higher allowances for one account. It does not include multi-user seats or shared workspaces. Saved-template limits include archived templates.

How does billing and cancellation work?

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in USD, plus applicable taxes, through Dodo Payments. Cancel renewal in Settings → Subscription → Manage billing. Your subscription stays available until its paid period ends. Creating a Free account never charges you.
